Peregrine Falcon Update: 23-May-2006

Central Park South: Peregrine Falcons

For an hour & a half's observing I spotted a Peregrine Falcon only once. It was definitely the male & it was flying in from the north heading east. Before disappearing it passed over the Plaza Hotel.

Central Park's Gapstow Bridge
5:45p — 7:20p

Highlights: the activity around the nest has changed dramatically since the 16th of May which was the last day of ‘normal’ nesting behavior. No prey has been brought to the nest this season for the limited amount of time spent at the site.

• By 6:10p the male was flying in from the N. I spotted it in front of the Pierre Hotel at about half the height of the building. It then headed W over the Plaza Hotel & disappeared behind some trees.
